Project Overview
Last week, our team at Kee Engineering finished installing pipework at a fuel storage facility in Oban, Scotland. We put in six transfer lines that connect to three new bulk storage tanks for gas oil, kerosene, and diesel fuels.
What We Did
We installed over 150 metres of special pipework that serves two purposes:
- Three main lines at the front of the tanks, creating an easy offloading point for fuel delivery
- Three more lines at the back of the tanks, connecting to a new loading skid for controlled distribution
How We Did It
Our team handled everything from start to finish:
- Planned the best routes for pipes to ensure good flow and safety
- Made and installed custom brackets to hold all the pipework securely
- Applied industrial primer coating to protect against rust (important in coastal Scotland!)
- Completed precise welding work to make sure no leaks would happen with these dangerous materials
Timeline
Even though this was a complex job with multiple fuel lines and storage tanks, our skilled team finished the whole installation in just four days. This meant very little downtime for our client.
We can design and build important infrastructure for the energy sector while keeping everything safe and following environmental rules.
